EXETER KITCHEN

a design collaboration with Spaces into Places

The layout, reconfigured by Lynne, helped open up this kitchen and better connect it to the rest of the home. Warm grey paint on the cabinetry combined with a natural stone backsplash add the modern touch that the clients desired.

The layout, reconfigured by Lynne, helped open up this kitchen and better connect it to the rest of the home. I selected warm grey paint on the cabinetry and combined it with a natural stone backsplash to add the modern touch that the clients desired.

All of the materials and fixtures were selected to achieve the right balance of old meets new. The clients had an extensive collection of pottery which is displayed in the glass-front cabinetry and open shelves.

Lynne specified frameless cabinetry which maximizes every inch in the small footprint. The door style is a nod to the past while the simple cabinet hardware and light fixture bring in a contemporary touch.

An overview of the space shows how the new layout ties into the rest of the home. Widening the doorway between the kitchen and dining room made way for a small desk and casual seating area.
